The 9th Clan Tournament or 6th Annual Tournment started in April 1st, 2019 and in response to the previous Tournaments, this Tournament suffered drastical changes, including both rules and the system. A new, up-to-date post regarding the rules of Clash of the Clans was created[3], down below is a list showing all the changes to the old rules:

  • Clan-Hoping and Single-Player Clans, Clans filled with dummy Vikings included, are now prohibited in the Tournament;
    • Clans were monitored to prevent players from using Dummy Vikings in Fireball Frenzy to earn easy trophies by competing against themselves.
  • Clans can't eliminate random clanmen for the sake of keeping the Clan smaller and increasing the average trophies per Clan;
  • The Clans who were nominated for Top 8 must write down the chosen members' Viking Name and Clan Name.

The Tournament suffered from two irregularities which also involved the rules itself.

Prize

Breaking All Rules received the Golden Light Fury Hoodie, a genuine original Light Fury Hoodie. It's unknown what stat boosts the hoodie has.

Irregularities

Due to the past events being filled with any sorts of irregualrites from a hack attack ending someone's entire Viking progress and Clan, a Clan who deliberately withdrawl to prove how unbalanced the Tournament is, to a Single-Player Clan be in the Top 8 to furthermore prove just how unbalanced the Tournament is, and two players winning the Tournament using Dummy Vikings to earn trohpies, Brynjolf finally decided to send a private message to a select number of players who wwre itnerested/regular partipants of the Tournament and ask for feedback in March 21, 2019.[name 1]

With the amount of feedback given, the rules were changed and a few were added, along with an up-to-date post of the Clash of Clans rules.[name 2] One rule in particular standed out the most.

Therefore, prior to the start of Week 2, clan members who are part of the Top 8 MUST include the Clan Name, Account Name, and Viking Name of all members on the "CoTC Top 8" thread, as our team will be monitoring this thread.[name 3]

This stirred up some arguements as leaking someone's private information is a rather dangerous thing to do[name 4], on the same note, not everyone is aware of the SoD Forums nor has an account on it, therefore, Clan Leaders can't send a Private Message and ask for their username, let alone the "2-hour" limit.[name 5][name 6]

Around April 4th, the post was changed and the rules no longer require the Username and only require the Viking Name and the Clan Name.

On April 8th, 2019, the Top 8 was announced[rules 1] and the respective nominated Clans had to post their members' Viking Names and Clan Names[rules 2], though one Clan out of 8 Clans stated they weren't participating and the Clan was composed in only one active Viking: Quartz Wolf.[rules 3] In spite of Ares (Leader of The Phoenix Knights) stating they weren't participating, in the following day, Ares listed the Clan and the only active member in the Provide Racers post.[rules 4] The Semi-Finals are announced and somehow, The Phoenix Knights are also part of the Top 4[rules 5] which rose concern regarding how the Clan is exclusively made up of one active member[rules 6][rules 7] and in the rules, it clearly stated "1-Viking Clan" is prohibited.[rules 8] On April 16th, 2019, answers regarding how a 1-Viking Clan is able to beat 4+ member Clans are finally given: the trophies being gathered is averaged by one person.[rules 9] The community wasn't happy to hear this answer as the Admins are practically breaking their own rules like letting what is summed up to a "1-Viking Clan" participate, almost as if the new rules were just done to "pacify" those who deamnded the Tournament to have new rules.[rules 10][rules 11] Ares tries to put emphasis on the difference between "one person in a Clan" and "a one person Clan"[rules 12] but other still bring up awareness on how does one member in a Clan manages to get a large amount of trophies and surpassing other Clans, as well as how it still is against the rules.[rules 13][rules 14][rules 15] The Finals were announced[rules 16] and overall confusion ensued: Shut Up and Race and Breaking All Rules are once again competing against each other in spite of also competing against each other in the previous Round.[rules 17][rules 18][rules 19] An explanation as to why those Clans were competing again was given along with The Phoenix Knights' disqualification[rules 20]. Brunhilde, a SoD Admin, confirmed that The Phoenix Knights was indeed disqualified, the Clan wasn't being disqualified before due to the lack of a rule regarding 1-Active Player Clans. But it was decided participating Clans should at the least have 4 active players (who doesn't belong in the same account), which resulted in the disqualification and an apology for letting The Phoenix Knights participate in the Tournament.[rules 21]
