Aside from the Store and Quests, these are the other methods of getting Dragons.
Before an unknown Update, players could buy Mystery Dragon Egg Chests from the Store at any time. Nowadays, these appear exclusively in some Stable Missions, one certain Achievement, and map-wide Mystery Chests can reward Dragon Eggs thought with a slim chance - a mobile-exclusive Ad Chest also rewards Dragon Eggs. Membership rewards a Monthly Mystery Egg Chest in all Membership types with exception of Trial.
Battle Events rewards Dragon Eggs at any tier with exception of Defeat, the higher the tier, the higher the chances of getting Dragon Eggs.
Events such as Dreadfall Event, Snoggletog Event, and Thawfest Event rewards Dragons in an "early access" sort of way. These Dragons remain Limited Time for a total of 5 to 7 months before being released to the public, with exception of the Night Lights who re-appear in the Store for a temporary amount of time. Down below is a list of Dragon that were once Event-limited till their inevitable release.

Redeem Codes are one-time codes that grant specific items to all Vikings and new Vikings within one account, some are still active and others have been deactivated. The code "lavaeater" grants an Eruptodon Egg.
Some codes are one-user one-time only, meaning only one user can redeem in - once its redeemed, no one can redeem it anymore. Riders of Berk DVDs would contain this type of codes to get a free Thunderdrum and Whispering Death.
