Warpaint is one of the oldest skins to be available in SoD, it was released around January 9th, 2015[1] under "Dragon Days" but stopped after October 27th, 2015. The skin is very known among other skins due to its variable paint layout that differs between each species,

for example, the Monstrous Nightmare has a Yellow and Red paint layout but the Deadly Nadder has a Cyan and Orange paint layout with different patterns from the Monstrous Nightmare.

Some paints however still reuse the Hero skin as opposed to use the custom colors, the following list shows all the Dragons with Warpaint, dragons with this highlight means the dragon will use the Hero skin instead of the custom colors. If there's a Dragon with a texturing glitch, it will be marked in this highlight.

The prices vary between species, some cost 80 Gems other go up to 120 Gems. In an unknown update, they now all cost 150 Gems (120 Gems).

*- The Rumblehorn once had a Warpaint that used the custom colors called "Rumblehorn Red Warpaint" until in an unknown update, the skin was removed from the store and left the Hero+Warpaint variant in stores. The Red Warpaint also can't be used on the Titan Rumblehorn as the texture placement is glitched and will use the Adult Rumblehorn's texturing instead.
**- Titans often have some minor texturing glitch. Titan Boneknapper will display a lighter coloration.

Epic Warpaint File:Skin epic warpaint.png

Epic Warpant was released on May 23th, 2020[2], it's a mixture between original paint layout and Hero Racing Stripes. While the name in-game is just "Warpaint", in the assets, the skin goes by "WarpaintEpic".

In terms of the main characteristic of the skin, it depends: aside from re-using the Hero Racing Stripes' wing pattern, it also has a very angular Cyan and Orange "V" symbol on the forehead of the Dragons.

In spite of having the same wing pattern and color usage, the paint distribution is widely different.

  • Hero Racing Paint gives a cyan and orange undereye lining, and all limbs have a circle on the shoulder/thigh section and a band near the wrist/ankle, if the dragon has head spikes or fins, it will have a curved trail of paint. On the sacrum, it will have a band of paint. The distribution is even for all the Dragon that have it.
  • Epic Warpaint distributes the paint differently, some have more bands on the tail, others only have one, some have limb bands, other only have on the legs or arms. If the Dragon has fins, on occasions, it will have paint on it. Cases like Bonestormer and Deathgripper, special scale-like patterns along the tail region are distributed. Other cases like Triple Stryke and Chimeragon, the facial paint distribution is more over the top and filling. The distribution across other species isn't evenly, all except for the coloring and the wing pattern.

***- Hobgobbler will display the Detail Texture only.

Racing Stripes or as sometimes called, Racing Paint or Racing Skins were released on March 21st, 2017[3] and the last patch of Racing Stripes was released on June 20th, 2017[4]. Unlike Warpaint, all species have the same patterns involving Orange and Red paint layout, the biggest characteristic of the Racing Stripes is the arrow-like symbol in both the head and the back.

Because the skin is the same for every available species, there's a lot of species that can use the skin, however, some do display texturing glitches, notoriously the eye-texture glitch found in many Dragons who wer the skin. The following list shows all Dragons with Racing Stripes, Dragons with this highlight means the Dragon has some sort of texturing glitch. They all cost 120 Gems except the one for Toothless, which costs 148 Gems. In an unknown update, they now all cost 150 Gems (120 Gems).

*- The Prickleboggle Racing Stripes was released in 2.9.0, April 9th, 2017 but for unknown reasons, it was deemed exclusive for a few days and hasn't been available ever since.
**- Titan Triple Stryke will display the Stripes completely red.
***- Will display the Default Skin instead

Red Racing Stripes was released along with the Deathly Galeslash, it's a variant of Racing Stripes/Paints with occasional original paint layout.

The major difference between each is the original version has both an Orange and Red paint layout with "V" like patterns, this one has a bright Red paint layout with variable patterns.

While they have the same name, Racing Stripes/Paint and Red Racing Stripes have a different appearance.

  • Racing Stripes/Paint use a mixture of orange and red in the paint, the orange line is thicker than the red, and and the arrows are smaller and evenly resized - this pattern distribution is always even and the same for all the Dragons that have them.
  • Red Racing Stripes are primarily colored in bright red, the lines are thicker and occupy more space, and the arrows are thinner and longer - some Dragons have an upside down V, or X pattern, or any additional patterns on the tip/s of the nuzzle and head, and extra bands on the tail.
